One Ingredient Moisturizers

Before I begin, I would like to make a special announcent.

When applying any moisturizer to your face, use the smallest amount possible to start. Only add more if needed. You will learn the perfect amount for you. Apply moisturizers to damp skin, after properly cleansing and toning.

Oil has been used as a moistruizer long before conventional moisturizing products were sold. Olive, JoJoba or even Grape seed oil hydrate, soothe and heal skin. These are heavier oils and work best for night time treatments, as they may be a bit too heavy for daytime usage. However, they do mix well with other lighter ingredients. Just remember a little goes a long way.

Coconut Oil is fantastic for all skin types. It's not as oily as Olive Oil and it absorbs quickly into your skin. As with all oil applications, a little goes a long way. Coconut oil is a great sealer and locks moisture into your skin and hair.

Shea Butter is one of my favorite skin and hair moisturizers. You'll find that 100 % Shea Better is very dense and hard. I like to gently heat it until it is soft in a double boiler. I mix in a couple teaspons of Jojoba Oil to soften it up and make it easier to apply. I will also add Essential Oils at this time. I then pour the mixture into a small plastic air tight container. You must allow it to sit for a days in order for it to re-congeal into a light dense scream. This moisturizer makes the skin look radiant. It's a grat night time treatmnt. Shea Butter will not clog your pores, but instead nourishes your skin at deeper levels. My hair and scalp love it too.

Emu Oil is a terrific light moisturizing oil. It works great alone and mixed with heavier carrying creams. Emu oil stimulates the skin to reduce the appearance of skin wrinkles, and rejuvenate aging or sun-damaged skin. Emu oil has also been recommended for use in the treatment of skin conditions, such as skin wounds and seborrheic dermatitis. It may also help with alopecia, rosacea, hypopigmentation, and shingles.

Vitamin E is a great addition to skin and body treatments. It corrects blemishes and discolorations. It will even help soothe and heal cracked cuticles and lips. There are also reports that it is helpful with eyelash growth. It is also light enough to be used as a daytime moisturizer for your eye area.
