Natural Options for Exfoliating

One of my favorite granular exfoliating agents is CINNAMON. It improves overall circulation and gives your scrubs an exhilarating scent. It is extremely healing and effective for calming breakouts and inflammation. Cinnamon is great to incorporate into your facial applications.

A quick and easy goto of mine is honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Its a very easy and effective skin buffer. Just moisten your hand. Add a small shot of honey (the size of a dime). Add a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Rub your hands together and gently apply in circular motions. You can rinse it off immediatly or leave it on for 5-10 minutes. It may tingle, especially if you leave it on, but this is normal.

Please make sure that you rinse your face very well. Finish with another honey only cleanse. You may feel some cinnamon residue in your eyebrows, eyelashes and possibly around the perimeter of your face. Cleanse and rinse all f this away and follow up with a good toner.

Baking Soda is an extra gentle buffer and less abrasive than a sugar, salt or coffee scrub. Incorporate baking soda into a simple honey wash several times per week to gently buff your complexion clear.

Baking Soda is very effecive for minimizing pores and resurfacing skin. Make sure that you rinse clean and clear. And since baking soda has such a low pH, you will want to make sure that you follow up with pH balancing toner. Aloe Vera Juice or even a diluted acidic solution such as lemon juice or apple cider vinegar will work nicely. Finish with an appropiate moisturizer for your skin.

Niacin Powder (Niacinamide Powder) is extremely effective at reducing pore size and stimulating cell turn over. It is also very powerful at helping other vitamins and nutrients applied topically to penetrate more deeply. Niacin helps to restore your skins natural self-healing mechanism. It also creates a barrier that helps correct and combat the signs of aging.

Exfoliating regularly with Niacin helps to enable healing and will improve skin tone and texture, repair damage, and build a natural barrier for the skin. To use, sprinkle powder in your hand. You will need a carrying agent, such as water, your favorite serum or honey (yeah... I know... my favorite). Emulsify the powdr and the carrying agent together and apply to your face. Either skins immediately after use or let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Rinse well. Finish with toning and moisturizing.
