Caring for curly, kinky and coily hair is a very distinct skill. For many of us, we have to learn what to do and just as importantly, what NOT to do, with our natural hair. Some of us are just getting to know our natural hair texture for the very first time in our lives. It's been so fantastic and inspiring to see natural hair swep across the globe and become more prominent. I love seeing this Sistah' Self- Love.



When I first transitioned and went natural at age 28, I had to relearn my hair all over again. My mom began relaxing my hair when I was 5 years old. I had no idea what my natural hair texture felt like, nor did I know what it could do.




Over the last 11 years, I have tried everything to care for my 4C, super course, extremely coily & kinky hair. I am so proud of how far I have come.


So I have compiled some of my favorite natural care tips and treatments. Many of the ingredients can be used separately and work well with eachother. Most can be found in your refrigerator or pantry or easily ordered online. Try them out and determine which ingredients and recipes work best for your hair type and goals.
